Schools at Grad Portfolio Day

There are over 200 art schools looking for people with a strong vision and great technique from a multitude of backgrounds, experiences, and training that can fulfill whatever niche is required of them at any given time. Making the choice to go to the right program is very tough and must not be taken lightly. The right staff, administration, faculty, culture, roommate, etc. can make or break one's experience in college or grad school. What follows is a list of some of the top programs that have time and again proven their ability to develop students of great talent, into professionals of perfect skill, honing down their techniques to produce and progress the world of art and design.

Topping off the list is the Rhode Island School of Design. This is where Seth MacFarlane of Family Guy fame attended. If it's your desire to be a famous animator, look into this top ranked program. Second on the list is Yale University. Yale was the breeding grounds for the founders of Pixar. If you have a knack for technology and once again, animation, check out this Ivy League school of art and amazement. Located in the heart of improv comedy is the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. This school is much renowned for its keen ability to teach crafting and tech crew skills to those interested in and have an eye for stage building and set design. Ranked third, this school still offers one of the best programs of its kind and has graduated some of the best designers whose works can be seen all across theaters in America, from the Broadway musical in New York, to the in-house set needed for a film in LA.

Again, the choice of school can seem incredibly difficult and is not at all to be taken lightly. Research the schools and make sure they offer the specialty that you're going for. Research the culture and make sure you would get along with everybody. You're an artist. You'll know it when you see it.
